Tryouts for the U12 Storm Teams
Tryouts for the Storm '97 U12 teams have concluded for the 2009/2010 season. Contact Coach Eric Poortvliet directly to discuss individual opportunities to play with the U12 team. Tryout dates for the U13 team will be occur on or after April 16, 2010. Actual times and locations will be posted here when available.
The purpose of tryouts is to select the best players available each year. All players, including returning players, must participate in the tryout process. All three storm teams (Green, White and Black) will be expanding their rosters to play 11 players per side, which begins at U12. The coaching staff for the U12 season (TBA) may select up to 18 players total, but may select less at his/her discretion (most 11 v. 11 teams average 16 players). A minimum of eight players must return from the previous year if the team wishes to retain its league standing based on the previous year's performance.
Players must be born on or after August 1, 1997 to be eligible for a Storm '97 team, which will compete at the U-12 age level during the 2009/2010 season. No previous select soccer experience is required, but some soccer experience is strongly recommended.
